Southend's very own Anita Carmichael, an Internationally acclaimed singer/saxophonist, teams up with the the extremely popular jazz funk sounds of Dave Mascall's Acid Lounge for this very special Southend Jazz Festival show.
Anta Carmichael has recently released her first album for 15 years. She has a new album LIPSTICK ON MY REED on UK’s leading independent Saxology Records. Anita has also recorded a Live album in Barcelona, a fabulous live concert recorded in Spain for Spanish TV and Radio in 1998. Under her own name she has already played at festivals in Montreux, Glastonbury Jakarta, San Sebastian, and as opening act for George Benson as well as guesting with Alex O Neal and Shakatak, Jonathan Butler and Fred Wesley also performed at the Smooth Jazz Algarve Festival in May 2023.
A great opportunity to see Anita with the fantastic Acid Lounge from acclaimed guitarist, Dave Mascall, performing for the first time together in Southend’s newest live music venue. This 5 (sometimes 7) piece outfit is led by guitarist and composer DAVE MASCALL with the superb JULIA QUINN on lead vocals. On keyboards is the very talented MIKE KING with the ‘Funktastic” RAYDN HUNTER on bass. The line up is completed with the amazing (ex JTQ) NEIL ROBINSON on drums.
