The Southend Jazz Co-operative has brought together local amateur jazz musicians in weekly rehearsal sessions and public performances for 30 years.
Under the musical direction of local professional saxophonist Jon Seeley, they meet at Hadleigh Old Fire Staion on Saturday mornings, often welcoming top national musicians to put them through their paces. It's a particular tradition of the Co-operative to put on a Christmas concert, and we have invited them to do so at the Jazz Centre today, in recognition of their longevity and contribution to jazz in Southend.
